BBR has a commitment to all its animals: to care for them for the lifetime of each animal. The Adopter agrees that if he/she is unwilling or unable to care for the animal for its entire life, he or she will contact BBR and return the pet to a location specified by BBR. The Adopter understands that he/she is responsible for the care of the pet until he or she has delivered it into the proper BBR hands and will do everything within their power to safely return the animal. The Adopter agrees that in the event that he/she finds a suitable alternative home for the pet, he/she will contact BBR with the name, address and phone number of the proposed new adopter. Any proposed new adopter will be required to complete a BBR adoption application and other requirements for adoption and obtain approval from BBR in writing before adopting the pet. Under no circumstances shall the adopter transfer permanent custody, ownership or possession of the pet to anyone one entity, including family, friends or any agency, without the approval and written consent of BBR. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should any of our pets be turned into any animal shelter, animal control facility, animal pound, etc. Pets can be written into wills upon request.
The Adopter, and his/her spouse, heirs, executors, personal representatives and assigns, agree never to bring a claim or suit against BBR. The Adopter releases BBR and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, successors and assigns from all liability arising from the adoption or behavior or actions of the pet. The Adopter understands that this agreement discharges BBR and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, successors and assigns from any liability to the Adopter and his/her spouse, heirs, executors, and assigns, with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, imputation, scarring, death, property damage or other loss that may result from the adoption of the pet. The Adopter releases BBR and discharges BBR and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, successors and assigns from any liability for BBR's own negligence or liability that may result in bodily injury, personal injury, illness, amputation, scarring, death, property damage or other loss to the Adopter.
Cats over 6 months of age are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. On the rare occasion that an adult cat is not spayed/neutered prior to adoption, the Adopter agrees that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES, shall an intact cat over the age of 6 months be bred or placed with an intact cat of the opposite sex, and that these pets will not be adding to the overpopulation issue we are dealing with. In the event that an adult cat is released to an adopter prior to being spayed/neutered, BBR will have the cat spayed/neutered with OUR veterinarian, once the cat is medically cleared or old enough to have surgery. If the Adopter chooses to have the surgery performed at a vet of THEIR choice, the Adopter is responsible for the cost of the spay/neuter. Adopters of kittens under 6 months of age understand that he/she is responsible for having the cat spayed/neutered at the Adopter's expense at the recommended age of 5 months old, and MUST provide BBR with a spay/neuter certificate at that time.
*The Adopter understands that the adoption of an unspayed/unneutered cat/kitten will NOT be finalized and this will be considered a Foster-to-adopt agreement UNTIL the Adopter brings the cat back for spay/ neuter, or BBR is provided with a spay/neuter certificate signed by the veterinarian that performed the surgery.*
**There will be a $200 deposit for an unspayed/unneutered cat/kitten. Once we receive the spay/neuter certificate, BBR will return $100 to the Adopter, and $75 will be considered the adoption donation fee.**
***If the cat/kitten is not spayed/neutered once medically cleared for surgery/ 6 months old, it will be considered a breech of contract and BBR reserves the right to take the cat back into our possession.***
