Terms of Fostering

Care of the Pet:

The Foster understands that the the foster pet is an indoor only pet and agrees to provide recommended space requirements for each type of pet. The Foster agrees to provide the pet with fresh water, shelter, wholesome food, adequate and plenty of love and attention. **All supplies will be provided by BBFS, and Foster will be reimbursed for approved supplies purchased by the Foster. If Foster wishes to purchase unapproved items at their own expense, they may choose to do so.

Commitment:

The Foster family is prepared to foster the pet until it is ready for adoption. (Usually 2-4 weeks). If the Foster family is no longer able to foster the pet, BBFS asks for one week notice so that other arrangements can be made. However, BBFS will take back the foster pet at any time should urgent removal of the pet be necessary. The Foster family understands that many of these pets have been recently rescued and may be fearful and require patience and socializing by their foster family. The Foster family agrees to provide a nurturing environment to socialize and encourage the pet to trust humans again.

Foster Pet Health:

Please contact us IMMEDIATELY via phone call or text if a medical issue or strange behavior or symptom occurs. In the event that you cannot reach BBFS, and it is a life threatening medical emergency, BBFS gives consent to the Foster family to seek emergency medical attention.

Check-ins:

The Foster agrees to keep in contact regular contact with BBFS regarding the foster pet.

Spay/Neuter:

The Foster acknowledges that sometimes pets in foster care have not yet been spayed or neutered and agree that UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES shall an intact pet placed with an intact pet of the opposite sex of the same species.

No Representations:

The Foster understands that BBFS does not guarantee the temperament or training of the foster pet. The Foster understands that they are providing a safe place for a RECENTLY rescued pet. Most of the time we do not know their full personality and health circumstances or histories; although we do our best to give all accurate information that we have acquired from their previous rescue/owner.

Release:

The Foster, and his/her spouse, heirs, executors, personal representatives and assigns, agree never to bring a claim or suit against BBFS. The Foster releases BBFS and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, successors and assigns from all liability arising from the adoption or behavior or actions of the pet. The Foster understands that this agreement discharges BBFS and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, successors and assigns from any liability to the Foster and his/her spouse, heirs, executors, and assigns, with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, imputation, scarring, death, property damage or other loss that may result from the adoption of the pet. The Foster releases BBFS and discharges BBFS and its directors, founders, employees, officers, agents, representatives, contractors, volunteers, successors and assigns from any liability for BBFS’ own negligence or liability that may result in bodily injury, personal injury, illness, amputation, scarring, death, property damage or other loss to the Foster.
